I wear my Delance every day. I love it.
Please be assured that you were successful in your endeavor to create a watch that evokes tremendous emotions.
When I look at my Delance, many things go through my mind: when I bought it from you I was going through a serious professional transition, I was a new mother, and I was helping my mother through a terrible time in her life.
I had always intended for you to replace the jewel at the bottom point of the watch with my birthstone (ruby), as you originally suggested. Right now there is a tiny diamond chip, but over the years, I can't separate myself from the watch long enough to have this done!
I met you in Long Beach, California, at a conference, where you presented the watches as the emotional and creative culmination of many years of work in the watch industry.
I responded to this sentiment, as well as loved the intentional design and so bought one right there. That was in 2000.
I still wear my Delance every day, and I thank you for creating such a beautiful and practical product. I look forward to one day adding jewels to represent my two sons, as well as one for my mother, and one for the first kiss of my husband.
It is a simple thing, but profoundly meaningful to glance at a watch and be reminded of the things that matter most to you in your day: your family.
